Terms of Service

Terms governing your use of the Lensy platform.

Last updated: 2 April 2026

Overview and disclaimer

Lensy does not provide legal advice, financial advice, or regulated compliance services. The platform generates structured intelligence, research summaries, and regulatory context to assist your own analysis and decision-making. Outputs must not be treated as a substitute for advice from a qualified legal professional, regulated financial adviser, or compliance expert. Lensy accepts no liability for decisions made in reliance on its outputs. See the AI limitations and liability sections for the full scope of this disclaimer.

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Lensy, operated by Lensy (“Lensy”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). By accessing or using the platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

Lensy is a legal and regulatory intelligence platform. It provides structured research, document analysis, and compliance-oriented outputs — it does not hold any authorisation from the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) or any other regulatory body to provide regulated advice. Nothing on this platform constitutes legal advice within the meaning of the Legal Services Act 2007, or regulated financial advice within the meaning of the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000.

Eligibility

To use Lensy, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement
  • Comply with all applicable laws and regulations in your jurisdiction
  • Not be prohibited from accessing or using the service under applicable law

By registering an account or using Lensy, you represent and warrant that you meet these eligibility requirements. Lensy is not directed at individuals under the age of 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from minors.

Lensy is available to users in the United Kingdom and internationally, subject to applicable legal restrictions. Users outside the UK are responsible for ensuring compliance with their local laws in connection with their use of the platform.

Acceptable use

You agree to use Lensy only for lawful purposes and in a manner consistent with these Terms. The following conduct is strictly prohibited:

Prohibited activities

  • Using the platform for any purpose that is unlawful or in breach of applicable law
  • Submitting content that is defamatory, fraudulent, misleading, or that infringes the rights of any third party
  • Attempting to circumvent, exploit, reverse engineer, or otherwise compromise the integrity of the platform or its AI systems
  • Systematically scraping, harvesting, or extracting data from the platform by automated means without prior written authorisation
  • Using the platform to generate content intended to deceive or mislead others — including fabricated legal analysis, false regulatory guidance, or misleading compliance assessments
  • Attempting to extract, replicate, or reproduce Lensy's models, prompts, or system instructions
  • Reselling or commercially redistributing outputs from the platform without a separate agreement with Lensy
  • Using the platform in a way that could damage, overburden, or impair its availability or performance

Professional context

Lensy is intended to support informed decision-making, not to replace professional judgement. Where you use Lensy in a professional or advisory capacity, you remain responsible for verifying all outputs and for any advice or decisions communicated to clients or third parties.

Accounts

Account registration

To access Lensy's full features, you must register an account. You agree to provide accurate, complete, and up-to-date information at registration and to keep your account details current.

Account security

You are responsible for maintaining the security and confidentiality of your account credentials. You must not share your account with any other person. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account, whether or not authorised by you.

If you believe your account has been compromised or accessed without your authorisation, you must notify us promptly at support@lensy.uk.

Account accuracy

You must not impersonate another person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity, when registering or using the platform.

Subscriptions and billing

Plan structure

Lensy is available on three plans: Free, Pro, and Max. Each plan provides access to different usage limits and features as described on the billing page. Plan features and pricing are subject to change with reasonable notice.

Billing cycles

Paid plans are available on a monthly or yearly billing cycle. Payment is collected in advance at the start of each billing period. By providing payment details and subscribing to a paid plan, you authorise Lensy to charge the applicable fees on a recurring basis until you cancel.

Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time from the billing settings or by contacting support. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You will retain access to your paid plan features until the period ends, at which point your account will revert to the Free plan.

Refunds

Subscription fees are generally non-refundable. We do not provide pro-rated refunds for partial billing periods following cancellation. Exceptions may apply where required by applicable consumer protection law, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015. If you have a billing concern, contact us at support@lensy.uk.

Payment processing

Payment is processed by Stripe, a third-party payment provider. By subscribing, you agree to Stripe's terms of service in addition to these Terms. Lensy does not store full payment card details.

Failed payments

If a payment fails, we may attempt to retry the charge, suspend access to paid features, or downgrade your account to the Free plan pending resolution. You will be notified in the event of a payment failure.

Intellectual property

Lensy platform

Lensy and all content, technology, models, interfaces, trademarks, and branding associated with the platform are owned by or licensed to us and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You acquire no ownership interest in the platform or its underlying systems by using the service.

Your inputs

You retain ownership of the queries, documents, and content you submit to Lensy. By using the platform, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to process that content solely for the purpose of providing the service to you, as described in our Privacy Policy.

Generated outputs

Outputs generated by Lensy in response to your queries are provided for your use. You may use, copy, and adapt outputs for your own personal or internal professional purposes, subject to these Terms. You must not represent AI-generated outputs as your own independent professional analysis without appropriate disclosure.

To the extent that outputs may give rise to intellectual property rights, we do not assert ownership over those outputs. However, Lensy does not warrant that outputs are original, free from third-party IP claims, or suitable for any particular purpose.

AI limitations

This section contains important limitations that govern your use of Lensy's outputs. You should read it carefully, particularly if you operate in a regulated sector or are making decisions with legal or financial consequences.

Lensy uses AI to generate structured intelligence outputs. While we work to ensure accuracy and reliability, AI-generated outputs have inherent limitations that you must understand before acting on them.

Outputs may be incomplete or incorrect

Lensy's outputs are generated probabilistically and may contain errors, omissions, outdated information, or mischaracterisations of the law, regulation, or relevant guidance. No output should be treated as definitive without independent verification.

Not a substitute for professional advice

Lensy does not replace:

  • Legal professionals, including solicitors and barristers regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority or Bar Standards Board
  • Regulated financial advisers or investment managers authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority
  • Compliance officers or regulated compliance consultants
  • Accountants or tax advisers regulated by recognised professional bodies

For any matter with legal, regulatory, or financial consequences, you should obtain independent advice from a suitably qualified and regulated professional before acting. Lensy outputs are a starting point for research and analysis, not a final determination.

Regulatory positions change

Laws, regulations, FCA guidance, and other regulatory positions change frequently. Lensy's knowledge may not reflect the most current position. You are responsible for verifying that any regulatory information provided is current at the time you rely on it.

Jurisdiction

While Lensy has particular focus on UK law and FCA regulation, its outputs may address topics across multiple jurisdictions. Outputs relating to non-UK jurisdictions may be less reliable and should be treated with additional caution. Lensy is not a substitute for local legal advice in any jurisdiction.

Your responsibility

You are solely responsible for the decisions you make using Lensy, including decisions based in whole or in part on platform outputs. Lensy is a tool to assist your analysis — the judgement and responsibility remain yours.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law:

No liability for output reliance

Lensy is not liable for any loss, damage, liability, claim, or cost arising from your reliance on outputs generated by the platform. This includes, without limitation, financial loss, reputational damage, regulatory sanctions, or legal liability arising from decisions made in reliance on Lensy outputs.

Exclusion of consequential losses

Lensy is not liable for any indirect, consequential, special, incidental, or punitive losses or damages, including loss of profits, loss of business, loss of revenue, or loss of data, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such losses.

Cap on liability

Where liability cannot be excluded entirely under applicable law, our total aggregate liability to you in connection with the platform — whether in contract, tort (including negligence), or otherwise — is limited to the greater of: (a) the total fees paid by you to Lensy in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) £100.

Preserved consumer rights

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 where they apply.

Termination

Termination by you

You may delete your account at any time. Upon deletion, your personal data will be removed in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Active paid subscriptions should be cancelled before account deletion to avoid continued billing.

Termination or suspension by Lensy

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to Lensy, with or without notice, where:

  • You have materially breached these Terms
  • We have reason to believe your use poses a risk to other users, the platform, or third parties
  • Required by law or regulatory obligation
  • You have provided false information in connection with your account
  • Your account has been subject to repeated abuse, scraping, or misuse

Effect of termination

Upon termination, your right to access the platform ceases immediately. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination — including intellectual property, liability, and governing law — will continue to apply.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. We will provide reasonable notice of material changes — including via email where we have your contact details, or through a notice on the platform.

Continued use of Lensy after the effective date of revised Terms constitutes your acceptance of those changes. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must stop using the platform.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms — including any question regarding their existence, validity, or termination — shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

Where you are a consumer in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence. Where applicable consumer protection laws in your country provide greater protections than these Terms, those protections apply in addition to these Terms.
